What is a Domain Name?
A domain name is a unique address that identifies a computer or network which is connected to the Internet. A direct connection is not required to take advantage of having your own domain name.
Why should you register a domain name?
- They are scarce. Internet domain names are a rapidly diminishing commodity. They are allotted on a first-come first-serve basis. There can only be one "yourcompany.com" on the Internet, so make sure you register your organization quickly before it is too late. The longer you wait, the less likely you will be able to get your specialized name.
- They are important. The Internet domain name has become a vital part of corporate identity. In the 21st Century, your domain name will be as important as your trademark and your presence in a global marketplace.
- They are versatile. Any E-Mail addressed to you at you@yourcompany.com can be forwarded to your current E-Mail address. We can also redirect Web Traffic from www.yourcompany.com to your current IP address or even your existing web page hosted on a free website like geocities, tripod or freeservers!
If you are remotely considering using the Internet and World Wide Web for your business, we highly recommend that you register your domain name as soon as possible. Once registered, you will own the domain name and no one else in the world will be able to get it.
Q: Can I register a domain with TazaaHosting.com, but have the domain point to alternate name servers?
A: Yes. Just register your domain name above and fill in different name servers on your domain name control panel.
Q: Why shouldn't I host my website with a company that offers Free domain registration?
A: Some hosting companies offer FREE domain registration while you host your website with their company. Then, if you decide to move your website to another host, you cannot take your domain name with you because the hosting company is the real owner of the domain name. We do not offer free domain registration because we want our customers to always have the option to go to another hosting company and to take their domain name with them. Doing it any other way is, in our opinion, not ethical.
Q: I changed my mind about the domain name that I registered. Is it too late to change it?
A: Once you register a domain name, you cannot "un-register" it. If you find that the domain name you chose no longer suits your business or personal needs, you should register another domain name. The domain name you originally registered will continue to be registered to you until the end of the registration period. Registration and re-registration fees are non-refundable.
